The Manager, Communications & Marketing reports to and works closely with the Verbier Festival’s external communications, marketing and press consultant, WildKat PR (official external consultant). WildKat PR, in turn, reports to the Chief Operating Office of the Fondation du Verbier Festival. The Manager, Communications & Marketing is the primary day-to-day contact with WildKat PR and manages an internal team of three to four throughout the year (up to fifteen during the Festival).


Vevey: 100% with exception of the Festival period from early July to early August, when employee must be in residence in Verbier.


Collaboration with all the other departments of the Verbier Festival Foundation as well as the Friends of the Verbier Festival Association for a communication and marketing approach in line with the global plan.


  • Work closely with WildKat PR in the development and implementation of annual and long-term communications strategies and plans;
  • In collaboration with WildKat PR, ensure that the department's expenditure is kept under control. Justify and report any overruns;
  • Validate and delegate tasks and priorities to internal team, according to projects and deadlines;
  • Anticipate periods of high activity and promotional travel and always ensures the continuity of the department’s services. Appoint a replacement in case of absence;
  • Ensure that deadlines are met and that the production of print, digital and promotional materials are consistent with the Verbier Festival brand and that materials are available on time to meet needs;
  • Coordinate metric analyses to evaluate the effectiveness of the Festival’s website, social media, e-mail marketing, advertising and promotional initiatives;
  • Assist WildKat PR in the organization of promotional events and activities (including press conferences).


  • Serve as primary writer and editor for Verbier Festival Foundation print and digital communications and marketing messages, including, but not limited to:
    • media releases
    • promotional texts for official programmes and publications
    • website content
    • annual reports
  • Delegate and engage external writers, as agreed with WildKat PR, for Festival programme notes, biographies, daily Festival newspaper, etc., and their translation;
  • In collaboration with WildKat PR and internal departmental team, ensure coherence between printed and digital messaging and visual representations;
  • Ensure that graphic standards documents are regularly enhanced, updated and distributed and that all team members have the tools required to ensure brand standards, including fonts, templates and email signatures;
  • With WildKat PR, collaborate closely the Festival’s graphic design agency and ensure that graphic standards are modified when necessary;
  • With WildKat PR provide creative direction to photographers and videographers;
  • Ensure that the highest quality communications and marketing materials are prepared, produced and distributed.


  • Develop and maintain relationships with Verbier Festival partners, including sponsors, media partners and tourism offices and ensure that contact records are accurate and always updated;
  • Manage media relations for local Swiss media, coordinating news announcements and arranging a range of coverage, from previews to interviews with the Verbier Festival team and artists;
  • With input from WildKat PR, develop and implement campaigns with local media/ticketing partners, the tourism offices, and in collaboration with the Festival’s cultural engagement team (Unlimited);
  • Coordinate and/or delegate coordination of assets required for external publicists;
  • Collaborate with WildKat PR to organise press accreditations, invitations and logistics during the summer;
  • Collaborate with WildKat PR in identifying and servicing media and communications partnerships, including monitoring that partnership obligations are met;
  • Ensure the creation of a press report summarising all media coverage leading up to and during each edition of the Festival.


Together with WildKat PR, ensure collegial management of the Communications & Marketing team, organize regular department meetings, set clear objectives and monitor their implementation, and delegate responsibilities;

  • As a the most-senior internal Communications & Marketing team-member, ensure the smooth running of the department in a coaching spirit;
  • Manage holiday and leave schedules of department.

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in marketing and communications in the cultural field
  • Knowledge of classical music and the performing arts
  • Bilingual French and English, both oral and written
  • Excellent writer
