We are a small daily newspaper in Mississippi’s fastest-growing county, Desoto County.
We were voted the state’s best community daily newspaper and the
state’s best total market coverage publication earned in both 1999 & 2000 the
Mississippi Press Association division’s First Place Award for
General Excellence. We were named in the top 3 in 2001, 2002,
2003 and 2004. Among all the state’s dailies, we also received
in 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2004 the Mississippi Press Association’s First
Place Award for Total Market Coverage.
The DeSoto Times Today, which was established in 1839, began
daily publication in 1997 with a Tuesday through Saturday
morning schedule. Its paid circulation has climbed to an average
of 25,000 readers per day.
The Saturday DeSoto Times Weekend edition is delivered to
virtually every household in DeSoto County with a readership of
over 100,000.
