Founded in Houston, Texas in 1970, The Greensheet
is the largest weekly circulation in Texas with
more than 1.2 million readers. We are a free
weekly publication with 520,000 copies picked up
every week. The Greensheet has a unique customer
targeting opportunity for business advertisers.
Our 16 weekly issues extend to 9 Houston
editions, 4 Dallas editions, 1 Ft. Worth edition
and 1 Austin edition and 1 in Phoenix.

Company History

In 1970, Helen Gordon moved from Pittsburgh,
Pennsylvania to Houston, Texas with a small
amount of money and a big dream. She founded the
Greensheet. Its mission is to bring buyers and
sellers together by serving both individuals and
businesses with a cost-effective, convenient and
credible print advertising source.
In the early years, Greensheet was housed in a
tiny office in Houston and had about five
employees. In 1977 Greensheet opened an office in
the Dallas/Ft.Worth area to serve buyers and
sellers in that region. In 1978 Greensheet
expanded into the Austin market. Today Greensheet
is run by the daughter of Helen Gordon, Kathleen
Douglass. The Greensheet has grown into a 30
million-dollar company with a circulation of over
530,000 weekly. Nine different Greensheet
editions are distributed in Houston, one edition
in Austin, four in Dallas, one in Fort Worth and
one in Phoenix.

Greensheet has become one of the top classified
directories in Texas. This simple idea offers our
