Description
Seacamp is a non-profit organization offering a unique marine science/SCUBA residential camp for teenagers 12-17 and a marine science day camp for youth 10-13. Established in 1966, it is located near the most extensive coral reef in the continental United States in the middle of the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary. Seacamp offers courses in marine science, SCUBA diving, sailing, windsurfing, kayaking, arts and crafts, photography, and camp newspaper. Instructors will play a key role in training other staff in a NAUI Skindiving Instructor and Rescue Diver course by serving as group leaders/instructors during pre-camp staff training. They will also be responsible for teaching skin diving, NAUI Basic certification, NAUI Master Diver certification, and NAUI leadership classes to children ages 12-17.
Requirements
SCUBA Instructors must be at least 21 years old; hold an active NAUI Instructor certification or attend NAUI crossover course if required; have a strong desire to work with children at a residential facility in a tropical marine environment; be able to adhere to camp policies; and be positive role models
